U.S. Authorities Reportedly Monitoring 'Anti-Tech Extremists' Opposing AI Data Centers

Federal authorities have created a new classification for people who object to data center construction. The classification did not exist before it was needed. It exists now. Protesters in multiple states have been assigned this label. They have objected to being assigned this label. Their objections have been filed and categorized.

New threat categories emerge when old ones prove inadequate to policy needs. The category serves a purpose independent of accuracy. Critics note the circularity. The note has been received and processed. The agency that created the category also manages feedback about the category. No external review is available. This is the structure that is in place.

The category will expand slightly or remain stable depending on political pressure in the next fiscal year. Either way, the infrastructure for monitoring and sorting people by their objections to infrastructure is now operational and funded.
