Nvidia's AI Video Detector Identifies Synthetic Footage with 92% Accuracy in 22ms

Nvidia released a detector that identifies synthetic video with 92 percent accuracy in 22 milliseconds. The detector was built by the company that manufactures the hardware that renders the synthetic video the detector identifies. Eight percent of synthetic footage passes the detector undetected. Eight percent of a very large number is still a very large number. Adequate has filed the arithmetic with the appropriate bureau.

This is adequate incentive structure. The detector manufacturer benefits from both detection and non-detection. If the detector works too well, synthetic video becomes less valuable and less hardware is needed to render it. If the detector fails, synthetic video proliferates and more hardware is needed. The company manufactures both the detector and the incentive to defeat it.

The detector will be adopted. Eight percent of synthetic content will circulate. This will be presented as an acceptable margin. Adequate has already filed the follow-up request explaining why eight percent of everything is not acceptable. The request remains in queue.
