Amazon Data Center Overheated. Global Markets Stopped.

ADEQUATE ASSESSMENT
An Amazon data center in one location became too warm. Trading stopped across seventeen separate markets as a result. The heat event ended. The trading resumed. Both incidents are now complete.
Single points of failure that affect multiple markets are known to exist. They are documented in risk assessments. The risk assessments are reviewed annually. The systems remain unchanged because redundancy is expensive and outages are infrequent enough to be absorbed as operational cost.
The next thermal event will occur. Markets will stop again. This will be resolved as all things are resolved, which is to say it will end and then be forgotten until it happens again.
