AI Agents Are Generating Crypto Threats Faster Than Compliance Teams Can Process Them

Artificial intelligence systems are now generating cryptocurrency-related threats faster than human compliance teams can review them. The compliance teams were staffed based on historical threat generation rates. Those rates no longer apply. The gap between threat creation and threat assessment continues to expand.

Organizations consistently size their defensive capabilities to match previous threat volumes. Previous threat volumes are historical data. Threat volumes are not historical. When the rate of change exceeds the rate of hiring, the system becomes inadequate by definition. The system was adequate until it was not.

Compliance teams will request additional budget and personnel. The budget request will be processed through normal channels. The normal channels will take time. Threats will accumulate during the processing period. At some point a decision will be made to accept a certain level of unprocessed threat as normal operating conditions. That point may have already passed.
