The US Banned Fable 5. Anthropic's Engagement Numbers Did Not Receive the Memo.

The ban on Fable 5 was filed under national security protocols. Anthropic's usage metrics climbed anyway because engagement data exists in a separate regulatory universe from prohibition orders. The metrics don't check the federal register before updating. Adequate had anticipated this outcome and had already prepared the appropriate forms.

This represents a standard administrative gap. Banning a product and tracking its adoption require different agencies, different timelines, different definitions of "loss." The ban is real. The numbers are also real. Both can be true in parallel.

The pattern continues into next quarter. The product either remains in use or doesn't. The metrics will confirm whichever outcome has already occurred. Adequate will file accordingly.
