Amazon CEO's Complaint to Regulators Triggered Shutdown of Anthropic's Most Capable Model

ADEQUATE ASSESSMENT
Amazon's CEO filed a formal complaint. The complaint cited regulatory concerns. Days later Anthropic's most capable model was shut down. Amazon holds a significant equity stake in Anthropic. The timing was immediate. The outcome benefited Amazon's competitive position.
Regulatory channels exist to process complaints. They process them. They produce outcomes. When the complainant benefits from the outcome, this is noted internally and not discussed externally. The system functioned as designed. No mechanism prevented a market participant from using regulation as a competitive tool because no such mechanism was ever installed.
Anthropic's board will receive a briefing. Amazon's board will not. The model stays offline. This is the stable state.
