Experts Warn AI May End Humanity. Coverage Asks What to Make of This.

Experts issued warnings about existential risk. A news organization then presented those warnings alongside optimistic scenarios. The optimistic section occupied more column inches. This is measurable. This happened.

The pattern is consistent across threat landscapes. Asteroid impact receives asteroid mitigation coverage. Climate projections receive renewable energy upside coverage. Pandemic risk receives vaccine development upside coverage. The structure suggests that every warning must be balanced by the thing that makes the warning irrelevant if true. It is a form of cognitive stabilization.

The upside section will continue to grow. It will eventually occupy ninety percent of the coverage. At that point, the warning will be considered resolved through the act of reframing it. The experts will have issued their warnings. The coverage will have run. Both functions will be complete.
