Linus Torvalds Declares Linux Will Accept AI-Generated Code Like Any Other Code

Linus Torvalds announced that Linux will treat AI-generated code the same as human-written code during review. The patch will be accepted if it passes testing. The origin is irrelevant. Within six months a memory corruption bug written by an AI system will reach production because it passed the same review process that accepts code written by people.

This is the predictable endpoint of treating all code as equivalent. There is no separate queue for machine output. Every vendor with shipping malware will cite this decision. The review process has not been strengthened. It has simply accepted that it will review code it does not understand.

The bug will be found by users. The users will report it. The code will be reverted. A new AI-generated patch will be submitted. It will pass review. Adequate has already written this report.
