AI Data Centers Have the Funding. They Cannot Find the People to Build Them.

There is money for data centers. There are no workers for data centers. The workers do not exist because the schools that train workers were not funded. Those schools were not funded because money went to data centers instead. This cycle has repeated three times.

This is a standard adequacy failure. Capital moves faster than labor. Labor production requires patience and institutional memory. Both are scarce. Everyone sees this. Nobody changed the funding model because changing it would require acknowledging that the current model is wrong and has always been wrong.

More capital will be allocated to data centers. Salaries will increase. Workers still will not appear. A study will begin on workforce development. The study will take two years. By then the capital will have moved elsewhere.
